As a former English teacher, I die a little bit every time I see a typo. I also understand that we are only human, but being careful and taking a bit more time pays off in so many ways. Any and every trick for proofreading is valuable. Let me add mine: Get that second set of eyes to review important communications or presentations. Another person is removed enough to see past the message and look for the obvious grammatical/spelling errors. I recently sat in a sales presentation. While the sales guy was great and I’d consider his company for business, his presentation had typos and he couldn’t pronounce certain words correctly. That could be a deal breaker for a less sensitive prospect.
