New Discussion: Thumbs Up for Thumb Typing!

Ever since the beginning of writing people have been trying to upgrade the process: pictograms, letters, typewriters, keyboards, etc.. Recently researchers at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland have devised a new keyboard arrangement based on typing with your thumbs – as we do when texting. The new KALG keyboard is said to me more effective at typing then the “QWERTY” keyboard.

This new keyboard is arranged in two sections – and it is estimated that people will be able to type 34% faster with the new arrangement.

Nate,Aw, Im all thumbs anyway, besides, my father, a physics teacher at the high school level, made sure I took typing my first and second semesters in high school. One of the best things he ever did for me. I’ve been typing ever since, and boy has it been a good thing.Mike Date: Tue, 14 May 2013 16:00:05 +0000 To:

If I see one more person texting while driving, or pretending to have a conversation with someone, I’m going to shoot them! Being able to text at a faster rate due to the new layout of the keyboard known as Kalq, I think I’ll become physically sick. No one communicates on a personal level anymore, and few take the time to be understood as well. Add more speed and we will become a society that lost the art of communication, and therefore, everything else!
